Welcome to the Friends of Engel Stadium!
Historic Engel Stadium was built in 1929 and opened for the first season with the Chattanooga Lookouts baseball team in 1930. It is currently under the guidance of The Engel Foundation.
The Friends of Engel Stadium is a group of people from diverse backgrounds who have one thing in common; a love of Engel Stadium. We are hosting our first public event on Thursday, October 18, 2012 for the Knothole Gang Reunion. Please click on the Events link to RSVP for the reunion.
The Knothole Gang was created by Strang Nicklin in the 1920's and expanded by Joe Engel in order to teach local youth the importance of doing well in school, being a good neighbor and citizen and in return they were given tickets to Lookouts baseball games. The Knothole Gang kids are all grown up but still remember the importance of Joe's lessons and the restoration of Engel Stadium is of vital importance to them.
Please click on the Events tab on the left to RSVP for this wonderful event. The Knothole Gang Reunion is open to the general public, so we hope to see you all there!
